HR Consultant

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an HR Consultant, with a broad experience of the fundamental HR functions, particularly employee relations (eg disciplinary matters, grievances, investigations, attendance), to support our HR & OD Team to work alongside our HR Business Partners.

The team work in partnership with Directors and Heads of Service, to plan, implement and review workforce change as well as working with Heads of Services/Group Managers on a range of HR activity including employee relations casework, attendance, organisational change and TUPE.

The role will primarily focus on the provision of HR advice and support relating to the Residential Services (Community Resource Centres and Extra Care) that have transferred back into the Council, as well as contributing HR advice more widely across Adult Social Care services.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships and competent in wide range of employee relations processes.

Experience and knowledge of complex cases eg, safeguarding will be an advantage. The right behaviours and attitudes are as important to us as the skills you bring to the job. We are looking for people with sound judgement skills, a solutions based approach and the ability to provide advice and support on a range of complex issues ensuring a responsive service and early intervention wherever possible. Ideally, you’ll be CIPD qualified or working towards level 5 or have experience that demonstrates the ability to work at this level
