Stores Operative

Job Description

Our client has a new opportunity for a Stores Operative to become part of the Supply Chain team. The purpose of the role is to ensure the effective, timely and accurate receipt, storage and despatch of goods, including raw materials and our finished products.

The hours of work for this role are: Monday – Friday 3pm – 11pm (40 hours per week)

Some of the key tasks will include:

  • Process and deliver all production requests to ensure manufacturing is kept functioning at all times
  • Complete the Goods received paperwork
  • Undertake regular stock checks and audits, helping to resolve discrepancies
  • Report low stock items
  • Unloading deliveries safely and in a timely manner
  • Carry out forklift truck pre-shift safety checks and report any issues to the Stores Supervisor and/or the Health & Safety Manager
  • Ensure the stores area is kept tidy and safe to work in

To be successful in this role we think you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment or stores role would be advantageous
  • Forklift Counterbalance License
  • Banksman Trained (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
  •  Ability to work autonomously
